Deoghar, March 23: In a move to make Deoghar AIIMS cashless, Bank of Baroda and Deoghar AIIMS management signed an MoU on Tuesday introducing a cashless payment facility at the centre.
From now onwards, there is no need to keep cash while going for medication at Deoghar AIIMS as it has become the first-ever health centre of the public sector of the country to introduce a cashless payment facility.
Talking to the media about the benefits of this new facility, the AIIMS executive director Dr Varshaney said that till now a patient or his family member had to pay cash at every counter and the process was time taking and lengthy too. “But from now onwards once the cash would be deposited at the branch of Bank of Baroda situated in the premises of Deoghar AIIMS, the person will only have to carry a card,” he added.
“The card would be used as money to pay the bill and the remaining amount can be withdrawn even at the time of departure from AIIMS,” Dr Varshaney said.
The AIIMS director has marked the occasion as a small step but significant to realise the dream of cashless India of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The General Manager of the Bank of Baroda Sanjeev Menon has also expressed the occasion historical and felt proud to be associated with institution like AIIMS.
Menon also assured that within a period of three months a plastic card would be launched displaying names of both BOB and AIIMS.
Under the CSR program, the BOB has also gifted a bus to Deoghar AIIMS.
