Dhanbad, Oct 5: Cyber police of Deoghar have destroyed a den of fraudsters by arresting 15 criminals from different police station areas of the district and seizing 21 mobile phones in a 48 hours long operation.
Cyber Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sumit Prasad told the media on Tuesday that a special team of cyber police have apprehended eight fraudsters in different villages of Mohanpur police station area as part of a crackdown on fraudsters. Eight mobile phones, 15 SIM cards, and four ATM cards were seized while they were in operation by the police unit.
“A special team was constituted after Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhananjay Kumar Singh got the information that cyber criminals were operating from different villages of Mohanpur police station and were cheating people by offering payment through ‘Gaming App. The team took immediate action and nabbed eight of them in their houses”, added the DSP.
The arrested fraudsters were identified as Vikash Yadav, Akant Kumar (Latasare village), Bhavishya Kumar, Goddu, Devanand, Tuntun ( Kalhoria village) and Tinku Mandal , Babloo Kumar of Farkasimer village.
The officials also informed that earlier on Oct. 3, a special squad of police had arrested 7 cyber criminals from Latasare, Jagatpur, Kalhodia , Dumaria village and Mohanpur Bazar under Mohanpur police station. They had seized 13 mobile phones, 19 sim cards, five ATM cards, two passbooks and a cheque book from them.
“Mohanpur has turned into a vicious den of cyber criminals recently. Two consecutive raids and arrests have destroyed their criminal operation”, said DSP Prasad.
