Deoghar: Young couple’s bodies recovered from railway track

Deoghar, Oct 25: The mutilated bodies of a couple were recovered from the railway track on Tuesday morning near Mohanpur railway station of Mohanpur police station area in Deoghar. Both were residents of Rupaidih village of the Mohanpur police station area.

The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Deepak Kumar and his girlfriend Lalita Kumari who was a minor and an intermediate student.

It is being said that the love affair between the two was going on for the last four years. Both wanted to get married, but the family members were not ready for it. According to the information, the youth was from a prosperous family while the financial condition of the girl’s family is not very good. When nobody got ready for their marriage, they decided to die together.

On getting the information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. Ex-minister of Jharkhand Suresh Paswan also reached the spot.

Mohanpur police station in-charge Prem Pradeep along with the team investigated the incident and sent the dead bodies to Deoghar Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The police are interrogating the family members and friends of the deceased.
