Department of Environmental Studies at DSPMU organises quiz competition

Ranchi, Oct 11: The Department of Environmental Studies at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University organised a quiz competition for the students of the department in the guise of 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on Tuesday.

A total of 15 participants were selected through an online quiz test for the final round of the quiz competition. Three groups constituting five candidates each were formed. The quiz master of the competition was Sandeep Prasad, one of the faculty members of the department.

Vice-Chancellor Tapan Kumar Shandilya and Registrar Namita Singh encouraged the participants with their words of appreciation on the occasion. The judge of the quiz competition was Dr Salini Lal, Director of Microbiology Department of the university.

While addressing the audience, VC Shandilya mentioned that National Education policy was formulated by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of BHU. His dream of foundation of a new curriculum has just now been implemented keeping in mind the value of tradition in the Indian sub-continent.

Dr Shandilya also assured the students of his plans to initiate various sports activities in near future that will help them with their all-round development. He also emphasized that such quiz competitions will help students develop their mental abilities.

The winner of the quiz competition was Group A which had Anurag, Shyamal Kumar, Ashma Parween, Abhinash and Sanjana; while the runner-up was Group B that had Nishant Kishore, Jaswant Oraon, Manju, Surya, Deepdev Toppo as members.

Dr Sajalendu Ghosh (co-ordinator), faculty members including Dr Debu Mukherjee, Amrita Lal, Soni Kumari and Anushil Anand were present on the occasion.
