Ranchi: The holy month of Sawan, which began on July 11, witnessed an extraordinary display of devotion today, July 14, as thousands of devotees thronged Ranchi’s historic Pahari Mandir on the first Monday of Sawan. Since early morning, long queues of Shiva devotees could be seen performing Jalabhishek, offering sacred water to Lord Bholenath.

Devotees Walk From Swarnarekha River With Sacred Water

Devotees not only from Ranchi but also from various districts across Jharkhand arrived at the Pahari Mandir for darshan of Mahadev. Many pilgrims undertook arduous overnight journeys on foot, carrying holy water from the Swarnarekha River. After hours of devotion and travel, they patiently queued up to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.

Temple Echoes With “Bol Bam” and “Har Har Mahadev” Chants

On the first Monday of Sawan, the temple complex resonated with spirited chants of “Bol Bam” and “Har Har Mahadev,” creating an atmosphere charged with devotion. Men, women, the elderly, and young devotees alike were seen deeply engrossed in prayer and rituals. Apart from Pahari Mandir, worship and Jalabhishek ceremonies continued at other Shiva temples across the region.

Administration Implements Special Arrangements

In anticipation of the large crowds during Sawan, the Ranchi district administration and the Pahari Mandir Development Committee have implemented extensive security measures. A significant deployment of male and female police personnel has been made to ensure smooth and orderly darshan for devotees.

A grand welcome canopy has been set up at the temple’s main entrance, where devotees are being monitored and guided with necessary instructions. A control room has been established within the temple premises to handle any emergencies swiftly. Additionally, the Ranchi district administration has issued directives to prevent encroachments near the temple entrance and surrounding areas to ensure seamless movement for devotees.
