Devotees offer  Rs 25 lakh, 20 dollars, gold, silver to Baba Baidyanath in four months

Dhanbad, March 10:   Besides Indian currency, gold and silver, devotees offered American dollars to Baba Baidyanath Deoghar.

Deoghar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manjunath Bhajantri said that under the supervision of  Baba Baidyanath Temple administration all 18 ‘donation boxes’  were opened amidst tight security after four months in the Temple Administrative Building today.

In donation boxes besides cash, gold, and silver, $20 (American dollars)  offered by devotees was also found after counting.
As per Deoghar district administration sources, donation boxes of Baba Baidyanath were earlier opened on November 18, 2021.
Bhajantri said that a total cash amount of Rs 25, 23, 649 ( 25 lakhs, 23 thousand, and six hundred 49  were found. Besides it, the devotees also offered 1.16 grams of gold, and 204. 68 grams silver.
The official said cash, gold, and silver would be deposited in the bank accounts of Baba Baidyanath.
The heavy amount in donation boxes holds significance as in the wake of Covid infection danger, the temple for devotees was restricted for limited devotees.
