Dhanbad, June 12: Dhanbad POCSO court today awarded 20 years imprisonment to a minor rape accused identified as Anuj Kumar in a two-year-old case.

The Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) said that special judge of POCSO court Prabhakar Singh while delivering the judgement also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused apart from 20 years’ jail term.

As per the FIR lodged by the victim girl’s mother in the Govindpur police station of the district on September 24, 2021,  the girl was alone in the house. Her mother is a nurse and father a Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) personnel. Both had been on their duty. At around 6.45 in the evening, the accused entered the house and forcibly committed the crime.

He also made a video of the incident and threatened the girl to make it viral on social media if she discloses the incident.

However, the girl informed her mother when she returned to the house and an FIR was lodged in the late evening.

After the investigation, the police filed the charge sheet in court on November 17, 2021.
