Dhanbad, Feb 7: An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team of Dhanbad today conducted a house search of retired Amin (land surveyor) Shambhu Sharan Pathak in his Housing Colony based building in connection of possession of disappropriate assets case.
ACB Dhanbad deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Nitin Khandelwal told media persons that on basis of a house search warrant issued by the court, the ACB team is conducting a search of the retired land surveyor’s house in connection possesses of disappropriate assets.
“Shambu Sharan Pathak is also one of the accused in a land acquisition scam and a case 2/ 22 was lodged against him in ACB Dhanbad police station last year. On the directive of the court a team of ACB is searching his house since morning,” said DSP Khandelwal.
The ACB team comprising two DSP rank officers and another reached the Housing Colony-based house of Sadhu Shara Pandey in the morning and began a search of papers in his double–storey building. DSP said the search operation is continued and documents are being probed. The team would submit finding reports in court.
Sadhu Sharan Pandey, posted in the Dhanbad circle office (CO) retired from service. His name was figured in the Ring Road land acquisition scandal in the district and he was made accused of it.
However, he denied his involvement in the land acquisition scam.
“I retired from service in 2011 and scams surfaced last year. How I was involved in it,” he quipped.
The retired land surveyor said that he does not know who is conducting a search of his house.
“A total of 10 to 15 persons have come and began a search of my house after showing court order. They did not say why they are searching my house,” he said to media persons.
