Dhanbad, Feb 6: The All India Diploma Engineers and Officials Association (AIDEOA) today held a massive demonstration before the national headquarters of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) for implementing  Mines Rules in coal mines of Coal India Limited (CIL) all subsidiary company.

AIDEOA national president Vikash Das, while leading the demonstration, said that the safety of Mining Sardar, Overman and  Assistant Manager is being ignored but at the same time whenever any accident occurs they are made scapegoats for that.

“All India Diploma Engineers and officials Association has been compelled to sit on dharma and demonstrate before DGMS headquarters due to step-motherly treatment being given to diploma engineers and assistant managers in an appointment and providing safety measures,” said Vikas Das.

He said the main demands of the Association are implementing mines safety rules and regulations in mines of the CIL subsidiary company and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) mines, implementation of Safety Congress’s directives and providing safety measures, exemption of  Sardar, Overman and Assistant Managers from the incident inquiry.

Vikas Das said that the association has also asked the DGMS to assess the work of Sardar, Overman and  Assistant Manager and fix their working hours in mines. Immediate appointment of the restricted certificate holder in Coal India Limited, permission to Overman candidate in the examination of the second and first-grade manager after abolishing experience mandatory and examination in the Hindi language are other demands.

AIDEOA national president said that the association would compel to intensify the agitation if DGMS  does not consider nine points demand.
