Dhanbad, Dec 21: The Association of Physicians of India (API), on its foundation day today, felicitated renowned physician of Jharkhand Dr AKP Singh through Zoom programme for his outstanding contribution in health services to people.
On this occasion, API national body president Dr K Tiwary and secretary Dr Mangesh Tiwakar felicitated 16 eminent physicians of the country in which retired Dr ( Prof) of Patliputra Medical College Hospital ( Now Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital) Dhanbad was lone from Jharkhand.
At the zoom meeting, Jharkhand Association of Physician of India chairman Dr NK Singh, Dhanbad API chairman Dr Sunil Sinha, secretary Dr VSV Prasad, Prof ( Dr UK Ojha) felicitated Dr AKP Singh at his residence.
Dr AKP Singh, the renowned cardiologist of united Bihar had completed MBBS from Rajendra Medical College Hospital (now RIMS) Ranchi in 1960. He was the topper of his batch. In 1965 he completed MD. “ In 1981 he joined PMCH Dhanbad as an assistant professor and became a professor in medicine in 1996. He retired in 2000 from the medical college as head of the department.
Dr Singh was also president of Cardiology Society of India, Bihar chapter from 2000 to 2002.
For his extraordinary research work, Indian College of Cardiology and Cardiological Society of India provided fellowship to him. His paper on Periodical Disease received massive appreciation across the country.
“ He was a renowned cardiologist of India and wherever the conference was organized across the country Dr AKP Singh of PMCH was invited for a research presentation, ” said Dr Sunil Sinha, API Dhanbad chapter chairman.
Dr ( prof) of SNMMCH medicine department Dr UK Ojha, Dr. VSV Prasad, Dr AK Thakur, and Dr BK Singh said it is a proud moment for Dhanbad that Dr AKP Singh belongs to the district and figured among 16 doctors of the country for felicitation.
