Giving this information  Brajendra Prasad Singh, senior advocate and one of the members of the High Court appointed  Special Committee said that as per the order of the High Court videography of the entire proceeding of the AGM (Annual General Meeting)  would be made for conducting a fair and peaceful poll.

“After getting three names for the election committee from AGM, the special committee would send that to the State Bar Council for the final recommendation,” said Brajendra Prasad Singh. Other members of the High Court appointed Special Committee are Samiran Pal, Bhagirath Ray, Arun Singh and PC Mahto.

The election of the Dhanbad Bar Association had snowballed into a legal controversy. The tenure of the present committee ended on March 26. Without taking consent from the Bar Association, the outgoing committee of the State Bar Council on March 27 issued notice and convened the AGM on April 1.

The High Court on April 5, called April 1  AGM  convened by the State Bar Council illegal and directed to hold a meeting on April 17 after conducting an audit of the district Bar. The High Court also appointed a Special Committee of senior lawyers for holding the AGM and making videography of the proceeding.
