Dhanbad Bar poll: 21 candidates file nomination on second day

Dhanbad, May 16: Altogether 21 candidates filed nominations for different posts on Tuesday, the second day of filing nominations for the Dhanbad Bar Association election.

The Dhanbad Bar Association biennial poll is scheduled on June 8 and the election is being held for a total of 16 posts. On the first day of filing nominations on Monday total of five nominees had filed nominations for different posts.

State Bar Council appointed election officers, advocates Devisharan Sinha and Arun Kumar Tiwary said that today a total of 21 candidates filed nominations for different posts and 26 aspirants purchased nomination papers.

Two candidates PK Bhattacharya and Subodh Kumar alias Chiku Kesri put up their hats in the ring for the post of vice president while two other contestants Anil Kumar and Dhirendra Kumar Brahmachari filed nominations for the post of general secretary.

Besides it, the election officers Devisharan Sinha and Arun Kumar Tiwary said that four candidates Mukul Kumar Tiwary, Jayadeo Kumar, Meghnath Rawani and Krishna Bihari Sahay put up paper for the post of treasurer and Diwakar Prasad Srivastava for the post of assistant treasurer.

Two candidates Amal Kumar Mahto and Saket Sahay filed nominations for the post of joint secretary. Besides it, nine candidates Shatrughan Tiwary, Ramakant Ojha, Chandan Prasad Singh, Vijay Kumar Pandey, Mohan Chandra Mahto, Sunita Kumar Sahani, Manoj Kumar Rawani, Rajnikant Mahto and Hiralal Chouhan filed nomination for the post of executive members.
