Dhanbad May 24: All 89 candidates remain in the race for 16 posts in the biennial election of the Dhanbad Bar Association scheduled on June 8.
State Bar Council appointed election committee officer advocate Devisharan Sinha said that a total of 89 candidates had filed nominations for 16 posts. No candidate withdrew his nomination nor any name was rejected in the two-day scrutiny which concluded today.
After scrutiny, three candidates, Amrendra Kumar Sahay, Radheshayam Goswamy and Harish Joshi are in the race for the post of president.
For the single post of vice-president, five candidates Ajay Kishore Narayan, Dhaneswar Mahto, PK Bhattacharya, Rajdeo Yadav and Subodh Kumar are contesting.
Six candidates Anil Kumar, Anjani Kumar Jha, Bidesh Kumar Dan, Dhirendra Brahmchary, Jitendra Kumar and Rajendra Gope are contesting for one post of general secretary.
Seven candidates Deo Kumar Prasad, Jaydev Kumhar, Krishna Bihari Sahaym, Madhu Sudan Chakraborty, Megh Nath Rawanin, Mukul Kumar and Sheo Kumar Prasad Singh are in the race for one post of treasurer.
For one post of assistant treasurer Dipak Shah, Diwakar Prasad Srivastava, Mukund Mahto and Parmeswar Prasad Bari are fighting.
For one post of joint secretary administration, seven candidates Amal Kumar Mahto, Amit Kumar Singh, Braj Kishore, Gajendra Kumar, Gopaljee Pandey, Saket Sahay and Shashi Chandra Thakur are contesting.
For the joint secretary Library post, six candidates Narendra Kumar Trivedi, Dileep Kumar Prasad, Kedar Nath Mahto, Manoj Kumar Paswan, Nitu Rani and Subhashish Chatterjee are in the race.
Election officer Devisharan Sinha said that besides it, 51 candidates are contesting for nine posts of Governing Council members in the election.
The election would be conducted on June 8 and the result would be declared the next day June 9.
