Dhanbad, March 21: Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad has signed MoU with Cyber Vidyapeeth, Faridabad Haryana for launching a postgraduate (PG) diploma course in cyber security.
In this regard, BBMKU in-charge registrar Sudhinta Sinha and chairman of Cyber Vidyapeeth Shashank Shekhar signed on the Mou. Under MoU, five courses including PG Diploma in cyber security would be launched.
In Dhanbad two top technical institutions, IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) and BIT Sindri have already launched cyber security courses. Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) Hazaribagh was the first university in Jharkhand that had started this course last year.
A senior official of BBMKU said that if all goes as per the plan the MoU PG Diploma in cyber security course would kick start from next month (April 2023). The course would be one year and students out of BBMKU could also take admission to this ambitious course.
The university has a fixed Rs 80,000 fee. Over 1040 hours classes would be held for completing the course. Five other courses certificate, diploma, degree would be launched later on.
On the occasion Cyber Vidyapeeth chairman Shashank Shekhar said that cyber security course is emerging as a major career for the future of students. This field would create more than over two lakh jobs per year. Even the army is recruiting cyber soldiers for protection.
BBMKU vice-chancellor Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi was also present at the MoU signing ceremony.
