Dhanbad, Nov 18: a three-day international symposium on ‘Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era’-2022 (ISEDE-2022) began at BIT Sindri on Friday.
The chief guest, RN Singh, chairman of DVC, Kolkata while addressing the symposium said that success can be achieved only if you have faced failure. He also encouraged the students to get inspired by all the innovative minds to be put up in the symposium.
The guest of honour Md Aznar Alam, director (Finance) of Eastern Coalfield Limited (ECL) elaborated on the importance of finance and shared his experience of the journey from world engineering to world finance.
He also gave examples of various startups which have proven how the Indian government has successfully helped in the creation of a very supportive ecosystem for budding startups.
Moreover, BIT Sindri director Dr DK Singh introduced the students to the dignitaries and said the Institute was fortunate to see this assemblage of business leaders who were going to share their insights gathered from years of experience.
“When the best mind and people come together, innovation happens,” Dr Singh said in a speech that reflected his vision to turn BIT Sindri into an innovation-driven college.
Prof Ramjee Prasad, Chief Patrons, ISEDE-2022, director, CTIF, Denmark who is also an alumnus of the Institute, mentioned how Denmark has the highest number of Noble Prize winners density.
“Let’s work together to make India and Denmark great,” said Prof Ramjee Prasad.
The symposium is being organised by the department of Civil Engineering. Dr Prakash Kumar, HoD Production Engineering, BIT Sindri acquainted the future technocrats with all the eminent participants.
While addressing, he put up rapid progress made by the Institute’s Startup cell. He also said about the 4-star rating awarded to the Institute Innovation Council by the MHRD in addition to the Atal Rankings of Institutions and Innovations Achievements (ARIIA) that placed the Institute in the ‘Band Performer’ rank.
He also announced that BIT Sindri will be signing an MoU with IIM Bodh Gaya.
A prominent alumnus of BIT Sindri Dr Gautam Sinha ex-director, IIM Kashipur lauded the courage and capacity of the Indian youth and stressed the importance of doing what one believes in rather than serving someone else.
Prof Anders Frederiksen, Aarhus University, Denmark enumerated on basic aspects of being an entrepreneur, and what it means to be an entrepreneur. He also spoke about the challenges faced by startups in Denmark and how the culture of a startup is being promoted there.
Amrendu Prakash, director In-charge of BSL, Bokaro described the importance of digitalisation and its role in the creation of job opportunities and eventually improving the efficiency of a business.
