Dhanbad, Mar 2: Dhanbad CBI anti-crime branch team today took arrested Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Block-2 Area personnel manager  Ratnakar Mallick on a two-day remand for interrogation.

Ratnakar Mallick was arrested on Wednesday afternoon while taking a bribe of Rs 7,000 from an employee of the office for clearing his promotion file.

A CBI team today in the afternoon produced an arrested personnel manager in the CBI special court of Rajnikant Pathak and demanded a three-day reminder to complete the interrogation as the matter is also connected with disproportionate assets. However, the court gave two-day remand to the detective agency.

Block -2 Area office employee Satyendra Kumar had lodged a complaint in CBI Dhanbad crime branch that personnel manager Ratnakar Mallick has held up his promotion and demanded a bribe.

The CBI superintendent of police (SP) PK Jha laid the net after getting confirmation of the allegation. On Wednesday as Satyendra Kumar gave a bribe of Rs 7,000 to personnel manager Mallick in his chamber, a waiting CBI team arrested him with a coloured cash amount.

Later on, the CBI team also searched his Govindpur block-based house and seized some documents related to disproportionate assets.
