Dhanbad, Sept 24: Dhanbad District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) solved disputes of 52 couples in a five-day special mediation drive.
DLSA Secretary cum Additional Judge Nitasha Barla on Saturday told media persons that on the directive of the district and session judge, a five-day special mediation camp was organized on the court premises from September 19 to September 23 in which record dispute of 52 couples (husband-wife) was solved.
Different courts had sent a total of 160 cases of husband-wife disputes in the drive of DLSA out of which, 52 were resolved.
“This was the first time when disputes between husbands and wives were solved on a such large scale in a special drive in such short of time. The couples returned satisfied and united from mediation,” the DLSA secretary said.
The Additional Judge informed that besides the husband and wife dispute, 39 cases of the Negotiable Instruments Act (NI Act) and 10 cases of car accidents were also solved. Total Rs 80.70 lakh were recovered in accident claims and Rs 38.54 lakh were recovered in NI Act.
“DLSA Mediation is the best platform for getting a compromise between two parties where no one loses or wins but returns satisfied with a solution. Total 10 benches had been set up to solve different disputes,” she said.
The DLSA secretary further said that Lok Adalat would be organized in the Dhanbad Civil Court on November 13 and its preparations are on.
