Dhanbad, April 14: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Chandrapura Thermal Power Station and Employees Depressed Classes League (EDCL) on Thursday jointly organized Run for Equality to mark the 131st birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at Chandrapura Thermal Power Station of DVC.
Chief Engineer and Head of the Project Ajay Kumar Dutta, while addressing the function organized at EDCL’s office said that man is great not by birth but by his deeds. Baba Saheb has set such a record. We all need to learn from this. “If we follow our rights as well as duties, then we will prove effective in progressing the society and the country,” he said.
“Being born in a poor and backward family is not a crime, but through hard work, education, proper rites, etc., we can occupy a high position. Baba Saheb has shown this and even today many such people in the country have risen to high positions on the strength of their hard work. Today, we need to take inspiration from such great personalities,” he added.
Chief Engineer O&M Sunil Kumar Pandey said that it is because of Baba Saheb today that many institutes established in our country and people of every society are progressing today.
Deputy Chief Engineer Kamta Prasad shed light on the biography of Baba Saheb and said that his inspiration is very important for all of us to move forward.
The guests, officers, employees and followers wreathed flowers on the life-size statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar installed in the Ambedkar Bhawan campus in the EDCL office.
On this occasion, speech competition, seat and draw competition, and quiz competition were also organized by DVC Management and EDCL in addition to the race for equality.
