Dhanbad, Feb 17: Police have filed FIR against BJP Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto and 20 others for allegedly demanding Rs 10 lakh extortion and demolishing the boundary wall of a hard coke factory in Maheshpur village under Rajganj police station of the district. Rajganj area falls under the Baghmara assembly constituency of the Dhanbad district.

Rajganj police station officer-in-charge Santosh Kumar said that on the complaint of hard coke factory owner Barun Kumar Singh, a resident of Chandrapur (Bokaro), an FIR has been lodged against MLA Dhulu Mahto, Sukhdev Mahto, Anand Sharma Rameswar Mahto, Kedar Yadav, Kamal Kishore Pandey and 15 other unidentified persons.

Barun Kumar Singh in his complaint has claimed that around 15-20 persons lashed with arms reached with JCB late night of Tuesday and pulled down the boundary wall of his factory in Maheshpur. The armed men also damaged the CCTV camera of the factory. It all was done as he had refused to pay the extortion demand.

Rajganj police station officer-in-charge Santosh Kumar said after getting information police reached the spot and found a wall of the factory demolished.

“On the complaint of the factory owner, police have lodged an FIR against MLA Dhulu Mahto and others under IPC Section 147, 148, 149,379,385, 427, 420 B and 27 of Arms Act,” said the officer-in-charge.

However, the Baghmara MLA has denied the allegation and said that he had no information about the incident.  He told the media persons that he had no information about any FIR  lodged against him. “It is nothing but a conspiracy to defame and harass me in false cases. However I would fight such a conspiracy which would be exposed soon,” he said.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been also filed against Barun Kumar Singh, his brother Arun Kumar Singh and two others by Sachindra Kumar Ram, an employee of Jagdamba Private Limited for demanding Rs. 5 lakh extortion.
