Dhanbad, April 7: The health department on Friday launched a massive health awareness campaign among people along with a special treatment drive at all small and big health centres across the district to mark World Health Day.
Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Alok Vishwakarma said that due to the two-day state mourn following the death of the Education Minister, no official function was organized but today the district health department took several steps to ensure people could get quality and affordable services at all places.
“This year’s theme of World Health Day (2023) is ‘Health For All’. So, we have launched the programme for providing quality health care to the people of the district at all 139 health sub-centres, 28 Primary Health Centres (PCH), 10 community health centres (CHC) and two urban health centres,” said the CS.
While counting numerous super-speciality facilities being provided at Sadar Hospital and health centres to patients by 132 doctors and nursing staff, the Civil Surgeon said that on this auspicious World Health Day ( April 7) the district health department took a pledge to make people aware of their health and provide their basic treatment whenever they are required.
“District health department had prepared a massive awareness programme for celebration on the occasion of World Health Day today but it was cancelled and we focused on providing facilities at all urban and rural health centres to patients,” said Dr Viswakarma.
He said the main mission of celebrating World Health Day is to cater basic treatment requirements for all. Keeping this in mind we today discussed all points and resolved to bear the cost of private ambulances for patients in an emergency even though the health department has 64 Mamta Vahan and 108 ambulance facilities.
