Dhanbad, Dec 27: IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad has begun sanitising and scanning visitors, including students and staff, at the entrance gate as precaution measures against Covid.
The senior security officer of IIT ISM Ram Manohar said that for alertness and safety against Covid sanitiser are being given at the gate to the visitor who enters the institution and the scanning machine has been kept as a safety exercise.
“We have made all these safety arrangements at the local level decision and do not force any person even staff and students to use sanitiser and go through scanning before entering the institution. It has been left to the voluntary decision of the visitor whether go with precaution measures or not,” said senior security of officer of IIT ISM.
Moreover, Manohar said so far neither guidelines of the central/state government education department nor the director of IIT ISM have come for enforcing the use of sanitiser and conducting scanning of people. Three days ago, IIT ISM’s internal security department held a meeting in wake of possible Covid infection and decided to make available all precautionary measures at the gate.
“Officially, we would enforce the safety measures against Covid only after getting guidelines from the education department of the central government or state government,” he said.
Besides IIT ISM, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has also issued an advisory to its officials and staff for adopting safety measures against Covid. The official said directives have been issued to follow from today (Tuesday) on a priority basis with using sanitiser, wearing masks in the office and maintaining social distancing in wake of Corona danger.
