Dhanbad, April 27:  A Special Committee (question and attention)  of the Jharkhand Assembly has directed the private firms of Dhanbad to fix 75% of jobs in their establishment for local youth.

The special committee headed by Nalin Soren while holding a meeting with the representatives of private companies and officials of the Chamber of Commerce at the Circuit house on Wednesday evening asked them to provide 75 per cent jobs of their establishment amounting pay scale of Rs  40,000 and below to local youth on a priority basis.

Soren also directed the district employment officer to upload the data in the portal regarding which company has given how many jobs to the local youth.

Giridih Sadar MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Tundi MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto and Poraiyahat MLA Pradeep Yadav were other members of the Assembly Special Committee at the meeting.

The chairman and members of the committee also directed the employment officer of the district to screen the outsourcing agencies whether they have engaged out-of-state youth in their establishment in violation of the state government’s directive to give 75 per cent employment to local youth.

The representatives and owners of private firms at the meeting informed the committee members that they were ready to follow (the 75 per cent employment to local) directive of the state government.

The assembly committee members admitted that Residential Certificate is a major hurdle in giving 75 per cent employment to the local youth. They directed the district administration officials to arrange residential certificates for youth by holding a special camp.

Senior officers, including deputy development commissioner (DDC) Shashi Prakash Singh, DRDA director Mumtaj Ali Ahmed, divisional forest officer (DFO) Vikash Paliwal, additional collector Nandkishore Gupta and employment officer Anand Kumar and district mining officer  Mihir Salkar were also present at the meeting.
