Dhanbad, Sept. 4: The CBI special court on Saturday sent both the accused of additional district judge (ADJ) Uttam Anand accident death to Dhanbad jail as they returned from Gujarat after the Narco test.
A senior officer of the district police said the investigating agency CBI today produced both the accused, Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma, in the CBI court in the afternoon where the judge forwarded them in judicial custody.
Earlier, the CBI team returned Dhanbad from Guajrat via Ranchi in the day with both the accused after the narco test. They come to Ranchi airport by plane from Gujarat and by road to Dhanbad, before producing them in the court CBI officers got a medical test of Lakhan And Rahul at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH).
Uttam Anand was killed in a road accident on July 28. He was on a morning walk when a vehicle hit him from back at Randhir Verma Chowk near the Court under Sadar police station. Later on, through CCTV police identified the auto-rickshaw and arrested driver Lakhan Verma and his accomplice Rahul Verma.
As per the directive of the High Court, the CBI took over the accident death case on August 4 and after initial investigation took away both the accused for technical test on August 16 to Gujarat via Delhi.
