Dhanbad Judge holds camp in Jharia’s puja pandal over acid victim’s rights

Dhanbad, Oct 13: In an unprecedented move, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday organized a legal awareness camp in a ‘Durga puja pandal’ of Dhanbad and informed the people about rights and welfare schemes of the government that are being run for acid victims.

A team of District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), led by Secretary cum Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Kuldeep Man reached the Jharia Sahana Pahadi based pandal and informed devotees as well as other people present there about the welfare projects being run by government especially the rights of acid victims.

“Acid victims must be aware about the compensation and benefits of government welfare schemes for which  he/she is entitled so that they can lead a life with dignity in the society and survive the ordeal,” said the ACJM.

He also said that on the directive of Principal District and Session Judge Ram Sharma, this Legal Awareness Camp was organized today at different places in the district to inform people about the rights and benefits of acid attack beneficiaries. Besides the camp, members of the legal service panel also visited door to door at block, Panchayat and village levels to inform people about it.

“The main motto of DLSA is to get maximum helpless, poor and deprived class of people benefited from government projects in the villages. To achieve this mission, this legal awareness campaign is being launched continuously,” he said.

The ACJM said that such camps at different places would continue in the district till November 14 to cover maximum people.
