Dhanbad, Jan 4: The district police today claimed to have arrested four criminals including a minor involved in creating terror by firing and demanding extortion from traders.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar and superintendent of police (SP rural) Reeshma Ramesan jointly talking with media persons told that among the arrested criminals, three are from Dhanbad and one from Giridih. They have been identified as Vishal Mishra (Giridih), Md  Aman, Md Saddam and one minor (Dhanbad).

The special police team officials recovered a 7.65 MM pistol, 5 live cartridges, two mobile phones and a Wifi device from their possession.

“All arrested criminals were henchmen of gangster Prince Khan of Wasseypur. They had been demanding extortion from traders in name of Prince Khan and creating panic by firing on establishments,” said SSP Sanjiv Kumar.

SSP said that Aman and Saddam had demanded extortion from Hirapur-based Ajay Electronics and fired shots in Naya Bazar-based famous diagnostic centre Clinic Lab last month.

After getting complaints of extortion demands from businessmen, SSP Sanjiv Kumar and SP rural Reeshma Ramesan set up a special joint squad comprising officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Bank More police station, Kenduadih police station and Katras police station under deputy superintendent (law and order) Arvind Vinha.

The joint team nabbed  all four criminals in raids conducted at different places
