Dhanbad, Oct 1: In wake of the Durga Puja festival, the Dhanbad police barred the entry of Dhanbad-bound Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhagalpur and other long routes buses in the city till October 5.
The Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar, while releasing the new route chart for four days of the festival, has completely barred the entry of heavy vehicles for 24 hours.
However, the ban on long route buses would be effective from 1 pm to 5 am in the city. New routes have been fixed so travellers of Ranchi, Jamshedpur and other districts do not face inconvenience.
According to the festival route chart of the police, Dhanbad bound buses of Ranchi and Bokaro would come to Dhanbad Bartand bus stand via Kerkendra More, Loyabad Bazar, Sizua Naya More, Pandeydih, Tetulmari police station, Shahid Shaktinath Chowk, Binod Bihari Chowk, Birsa Munda Park and Memko More. The buses of Dhanbad would go to Bokaro and Ranchi from a similar route.
Moreover, Dhanbad bound buses of Jamshedpur and Purulia would come to Dhanbad Bartand bus stand via Mohalbani check post, Sudamdih police station, Jamadoba More, Putki More, Kerkendra More. In comparison, Jamshedpur-bound buses of Dhanbad would ply from a similar route.
All passenger vehicles that enter Dhanbad from Sindri and Jharia routes would ply via Indira Chowk, Katras More, Kenduwa and Kerkendra More to reach the bus stand during the festival.
Besides long routes buses, the police have also imposed no entry to auto Rickshaws, E-Rickshaw and other passenger vehicles from October 2 to 5 to make the smooth movement of devotees and festival revellers towards Puja Pandal.
The administration has fixed a new route for passenger vehicles of Nirsa, Govindpur Rajganj, Katras, Sindri, Bhuli and other areas. New parking places have also been fixed for vehicles.
