Dhanbad, May 21: On the pattern of ‘Tiger Force’ patrolling, Dhanbad police today launched scooty patrolling of lady police officers in 30 police stations of the district.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar while launching the ambitious safety scheme for women today said that a ‘women’s help desk’ has been set up in 30 police stations across the district to carry on patrolling in their area to reach incident spot quickly and solving woman related problem immediately.
He said under the police modernization programme and with women’s safety in mind, the police headquarters has provided scooties to 30 police stations in the district so that woman police officers for continue patrolling. “It would not only help in providing timely help but also in the speedy investigation of the incident,” he said.
On the occasion, while addressing the women police officers who were provided with the scooty, the SSP said that their regular patrolling on bikes in the area would restore the confidence of women. If a cop feels any problem in the field in solving the problem on the spot, she should immediately contact her senior at the concerned police station.
Dhanbad has 52 police stations and ‘Tiger Force’ patrolling by bike police personnel has succeeded in checking crime, especially snatching and other offences on the spot.
