Dhanbad, April 12: The final year MBBS students ( 2019 batch) team of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College (SNMMCH) won the All Indian Preventive Social Medicine (AIPSM) quiz competition and qualified for the zonal round scheduled to be held in Ranchi.
A total of eight teams, comprising three MBBS students in each team, had entered the knockout stage. Four teams reached in the final round in which the 2019 MBBS students squad comprising Prakriti, Rozy and Hritik emerged champions.
Third-year MBBS (2020 batch) team comprising Prakhar Jain, Saleha Sultana and Rebaah, who missed the top position by a narrow margin, bagged the second spot.
The competition was organized by the SNMMCH PSM department at the Central Hall. Dr Rishabh Kumar Rana of the PSM department was the quiz master. SNMMCH principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad, who inaugurated the competition encouraged the participants and advised them to take the contest seriously and give their best.

PSM HoD Dr Raviranjan Jha, HoD medicine Prof ( Dr) UK Ojha, HoD biochemistry Prof ( Dr)Sunil Verma and members of different departments and doctors were also present.
The centre of attraction in the competition was the massive turnout of the MBBS students who came to support their respective batch teams. Quiz master Dr Rishabh Kumar Rana said all participant teams had come well prepared and replied to the answers in quick succession.
The winners as well as the runners-up team would represent SNMMCH in an inter-zonal competition to be held in Ranchi.
