Dhanbad, March 1: Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjiv Kumar has suspended two sub-inspectors (SI) and a constable of a patrolling party for thrashing an engineer of a private firm who lost an eye in the incident.
Police officials said that action has been taken based on a probe report of city superintendent of police (SP) R Ramkumar. Health Minister Banna Gupta, Jamtara MLA Dr Irfan Ansari, former minister Mannan Mallick and Tundi MLA had requested the SSP for a proper probe of the incident. The SSP set up a one-man committee to investigate the charge.
The injured engineer Hussain Ansari is under treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata.
The incident occurred on the night of February 14. As per the complaint of the victim’s father Mofijuddin Ansari, his son was getting the construction of a house done at night in the Barva Purv area.
