Dhanbad, August 1: Tata Steel Jharia Division today held a multispecialty health camp at the Bhelatan community centre for residents of its lease hold area.
An official said a total of 424 patients (243 females and 181 males) were checked up and treated by the specialist doctors at the camp.
“ A team of specialist doctors from Tata Central Hospital, nurses and volunteers conducted free health check-ups and provided diagnosis on different ailments,” said the official.
The day-long health camp not only provided consultation to the patients with free medicines but also conducted blood sugar, blood pressure check-ups and haemoglobin tests to create awareness and early detection of diabetes and hypertension-related issues, prevalent in the region.
The multispecialty health camp was graced by Mayank Shekhar, Chief, Sijua Group, Tata Steel, as the chief guest along with Manoj Kumar, Head of Bhelatand Colliery.
The specialist doctors from Tata Central Hospital, Jamadoba and the medical team of Tata Steel Foundation, Dr Sanchita Mondal, clinical associate, Dr Ankit Prakash, Sr registrar, Dr Abhishek Kumar, consultant paediatrics, Dr Alok Pandey, associate specialist dental, Dr P N Singh, registrar, TSF and Dr Bibekananda Patra, medical officer homoeopathic were present.
On the occasion, Rajesh Kumar, unit Lead, TSF, Bipin Singh Choudhary, manager community development and Shankar Rao, general secretary, TSF workers union, participated in this camp.
