Dhanbad, Dec 3: Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) on the occasion of World Disable Day felicitated 32 disabled persons of Sparse Disability Care Centre, Jamadoba by giving wheelchairs, crutch, MCR footwear and other goods.
The chief medical officer of Tata Central Hospital Dr Alok gave away wheelchairs and crutch along with district leprosy officer (DLO) Dhanbad Dr Manju Das, TSF unit head Rajesh Kumar and other officers and said that Tata Steel Foundation regularly supports persons with disabilities in a different way.
Notably, Dhanbad DLO Dr Manju Das present on the occasion runs several programmes for the awareness of patients.
A function was also organised by the Sijua Group of Tata Steel Foundation in which district Reproductive Child Healthcare (RCH) officer Dr Sanjiv Kumar of the district health department distributed disability certificates among 36 persons.
Moreover, Deputy commissioner (DC) Sandip Singh who flagged off the rally of children and attended the cultural function highly appreciated the performance of Sansthan’s students and said that one should not consider himself weak in any situation.
The rally started at a Jharudih-based school and terminated at Randhir Verma Chowk where the deputy commissioner welcomed them.
He called upon disabled children to try to become self-dependent and not depend on others for requirements.
“Government is operating different welfare programmes for you and take advantage of it in moving forward,” he said.
Dhanbad circle officer (CO) Prasant Layak and principal of Jivan Jyoti Divyang Sansthan also addressed the children.
