Dhanbad: Two-day national symposium on orthopaedic trauma to begin today

Dhanbad, Oct 15: The two-day national symposium on ‘Orthopedic Trauma and Joint’ is set to begin in Dhanbad in the evening today. The conference is being organized by the Dhanbad Orthopedic Club the aegis of the Jharkhand Orthopedic Association and Jharkhand Arthoplasty Association.

Chairman of Jharkhand Orthopedic Association Prof (Dr) DP Bhushan, HoD orthopaedic at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), said that eminent orthopaedics of the country would discuss the new technique of fracture neck femur fixation by Femoral Neck System (FNS), difficult nailing in tibia by supra patellar nail and joint replacement of the knee, hip joint and shoulder joint during the symposium.

“Altogether 20 national faculty members, especially from Mumbai, Delhi, and  Kolkata and 20 specialists of Jharkhand’s Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Deoghar, will shed light on a new technique and share their experience on advanced treatment in the field of orthopaedics,“ said Dr Bhushan.

The faculty members of the country as well as Jharkhand, who have arrived at Dhanbad to attend the national symposium, are:

  • Dr JK Laik (Jamshedpur)
  • Dr Rajesh Singh (Jamshedpur)
  • Dr Vikash Kumar (Deoghar)
  • Dr Manish Raj (Deoghar)

“Symposium on orthopaedic trauma and joint in Dhanbad is a golden opportunity for the orthopaedics of Jharkhand to discuss with faculty members of the country and share their experience on the latest development. Especially, junior doctors of state would be benefited a great extent from this mega medical event,” said Dr Bhushan, who had announced holding a series of national-level CEM in the state after being elected chairman of the state orthopaedic association.

A 10-member organizing committee under Dr DP Bhushan has been formed to conduct the conference. The members are Dr Manjit Singh Sandhu, Dr Sanjay Choudhary, Dr Ashish Bajaj, Dr Mukesh Prasad, Dr Nirmal Kumar, Dr Sudhir Kumar, Dr Ankur Saurav, Dr S Ghoshal, Dr Sanjay Kumar and Dr Nikhil Drolia.
