Dhanbad, June 27: Senior advocate of Jharkhand High Court and president of Dhanbad Cricket Association Manoj Kumar has been elected as the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) tournament sub-committee chairman.
JSCA secretary Debashish Chakraborty has in this regard issued the notification on Sunday evening. Former Ranji Trophy selection committee chairman Ashish Sinha (Jamshedpur), Manoj Singh (Jamshedpur) and joint secretary JSCA Praveen Singh (secretary of Bokaro District Cricket Association) are other members of the subcommittee.
Manoj Kumar, one of the senior-most administrators of state cricket, has returned to JSCA committee after 6 years. He was JSCA tournament subcommittee chairman from 2008 to 2016.
He was the media manager of India–Sri Lanka’s one-day international match played at Ranchi on November 16, 2014. He was also made the observer of the India-New Zealand one-day match at Chennai in 2013.
After the former president of the then Bihar Cricket Association (BAC) late Randhir Prasad Verma (superintendent of police), Manoj Kumar was the second person of Dhanbad who was selected as the observer of the international one-dayer.
“We will chalk out the detailed planning in the meeting of subcommittee soon but my focus will be on regularizing the tournaments that had been affected due to Corona pandemic in last two years,” said Manoj Kumar.
Manoj further said the tournament calendar would be made before the season and that would be strictly followed to complete the matches on scheduled time. He said JSCA would help all district units to organize all age groups’ tournaments on a priority basis.
