Daltonganj, Aug. 13: A dialysis unit is totally functional now in the Life Line Hospital and Advance Stone Clinic in Daltonganj.
The doctor-in-chief of the Life Line Hospital and Advance Stone Clinic Anwar Nezam, a renowned surgeon, told this correspondent today, “Our dialysis unit has taken off with facility for two now which we will be making a 5 unit dialysis facility here.”
Anwar Nezam (known by his full name) said, “We are glad to inform our people of Palamu and neighbouring districts Garhwa and Latehar that we have the privilege of a noted nephrologist Dr Satwik Saurav to be with us for carrying out dialysis here.”
The doctor-in-chief made it clear that “Our care of the dialysis patient will be under the direct supervision and monitoring of our nephrologist Dr Satwik Saurav.”
Sources said on average two to three patients go to Ranchi for dialysis a day from Daltonganj or via Daltonganj.
Now, this dialysis centre in Daltonganj is set to ease the burden of the cost of dialysis patients who are to spend more money on transportation than on dialysis.
On being reminded that prior to dialysis arteriovenous fistula, shortened version fistula, is created and this facility of creation of fistula is wanted in Daltonganj to which the doctor-in-chief said, “Our nephrologist Dr Satwik Saurav has assured us of getting fistula done here itself. We believe patients will not have to go to Ranchi for it anymore.”
The nephrologist Dr Satwik Saurav said, “I wish more and more people should be aware of renal disorder or failure. Awareness about how to ward off kidney illness is wanting.”
This correspondent spoke to a cross-section of patients having one kind of kidney ailment or other where almost everyone said, “They neglected their problems for days and months and today their kidneys have made them a prison.”
