New Delhi, Sept.27: The cost of diesel has risen once again on Monday. Diesel prices have risen by 24 to 26 paise per litre across the country. According to a price notification by state-owned oil businesses, this is the third hike in rates by government-owned oil companies in three weeks, following the largest increase in worldwide oil prices since 2018. However, there was no adjustment in petrol prices.
On September 24, the government-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) commenced daily price revisions. As a result, there has been this increase in diesel prices.
Diesel price in Mumbai saw an increase of 26 paise, taking the retail price of diesel in Mumbai to Rs 96.94 per litre. However, petrol in Mumbai remained at its old price of Rs 107.26 per liter. At the same time, in the country’s capital Delhi, an increase of 25 paise was seen in the prices of diesel. After which in Delhi, the price of diesel went up to Rs 89.32 per litre. At the same time, petrol in Delhi was sold at its old price, Rs 101.19 per liter.
Earlier on 24th September also, the price of diesel was increased by 20 paise per liter. However, there was no change in petrol prices even at that time. Compared to the average prices during August, the price of petrol and diesel in the international market this month has increased by around $6-7 per barrel.
