Ranchi, Oct 8: For a long, the Latehar district has been affected by the menace of Left Wing Extremism. This is one of the most backward and poorly developed districts of Jharkhand. The district has been synonymous to LWE, but the government is committed towards transforming the image of the region and the fate of the youth residing in the district. Many attempts are being made in this regard, starting from organizing sports and youth centric activities to ensuring a free coaching facility for the civil services’ aspirants within the district boundary.
Given this, the Latehar district administration has inaugurated an ‘Integrated Coaching Centre’ for the youth of the district, who are living at the margin of the society but have big dreams for their future. Being a backward and distant district, there is no facility available for the youth to prepare for the competitive exams.
There were many youngsters in the district who would want to prepare for different competitive exams, but due to weak financial conditions they would not be able to move to big cities and their aspirations aand dreams would get killed. To address this issue and to create a society based on equal opportunity, the administration started an ‘Integrated Coaching Program in the district.
More than 130 students getting free coaching facility
The coaching centre established in the heart of the district headquarter is facilitating more than 130 students selected from across the district. The selection was based on their past academic record and a basic selection test conducted by the team of expert teachers appointed at the centre.
6-month long crash course
The civil services preparation coaching program for the first batch is scheduled for a length of 6 months. During the said period, aspirants enrolled for the coaching will be taught as per the syllabus of UPSC, JPSC, SSC and other competitive exams.
Library facility for self-studies
In the coaching centre premises, a library has been established for self-study purposes. The library is equipped with different books required for the preparation of competitive exams, books and magazines required for current affairs and a set of different general studies books from different writers.
Competent teachers for in-class teaching and digital infra for guest lectures
To ensure quality education at the centre, experienced teachers have been roped in for different subject matters. These teachers have been selected based on their past teaching experience and their understanding of different competitive exams. In past, these teachers have cleared multiple competitive exams at different levels.
Additionally, to ensure guest lectures, serving IAS & PCS officers, expert teachers from top civil services coaching centres, digital infrastructure with wifi and projector facility has been installed at the centre. Also, the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Abu Imran keeps visiting the centre at regular intervals to deliver guest lectures.
