Ranchi, Sept 27: The Delhi Public School, Ranchi on Tuesday organised a counselling session with an aim to spread awareness among the students to take up NDA and armed forces as career options. Keynote speakers were Col. Suneet Shukla, Commanding Officer, 03 Jharkhand Girls Battalion and Sandhya Mishra, Girls Cadet Instructor. The session was attended by students of classes IX to XII.
Col. Suneet Shukla provided extensive information about how to apply for some coveted exams like NDA (conducted by UPSC), CDS, CAPF, AFCAT, IAF etc., their eligibility criteria, preparation related ideas, GD and interview related queries and questions related to psychological test and physical test. He also emphasized the importance of discipline and teamwork.
Sandhya Mishra, on the other hand, focused on the approaches and guidelines essential for joining Combined Defense Service and NCC as well. She also shared the advantages of being an NCC cadet for professional growth.
The students were further encouraged to focus on their aim and strive hard for better results. The effort of the resource persons was highly appreciated by the students. This session was fruitful as it motivated and inspired many students to join the Armed forces and made them aware of the opportunities available in the Indian Army.
The session culminated with an interactive Question-Answer session where students came up with relevant questions making the session further enriching and resourceful.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr Ram Singh said, “The Indian Army promises both professional and personal growth at every stage of the career. The adventure and extra-curricular activities in the Army ensure an all-round development essential in today’s world. It also instills the feeling of patriotism towards the motherland. The army is the pinnacle of public service and patriotism.”
