Jamshedpur, Oct 20: Dry weather condition is expected to prevail over Jharkhand today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

The withdrawal line of southwest monsoon was passing through 28.6°N, 93.6°E, Lumding, Kailashahar, Berhampore, Kanke ( Ranchi ), Bilaspur, Brahmapuri, Buldana, and Dahanu.

Conditions are likely to become favourable for further withdrawal of

southwest monsoon from some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, some parts of Odisha, entire West Bengal and remaining parts of northeastern states by today.

Today’s satellite pictures indicated formation of a cyclonic circulation over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persisting over the same region since October 18, and now it is extending upto 3.1 Km above mean sea level.

Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast and adjoining eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression by  October 22 morning over Central Bay of Bengal.

The system is further expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm over westcentral Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours.
