Dumka, Jan 17: The dead body of one Amlesh Kumar Rai has been recovered in a semi nude condition from a bush in Mahuadangal village under Jama police station of the district on Monday.

Rai who is native of Marcho village under Borio police station of Sahebganj district had come to his in-laws home in Pipra village under Jama police station of the district to celebrate Makar Sankranti festival.

Police said Rai had gone to visit Barapalasi along with three other persons on Saturday. He was missing since the same evening as his companions returned to their respective homes leaving him behind for being in too inebriated condition to move.

It was however only after Rai’s in-laws attempted to know his whereabouts they came to know that his mobile phone was kept with one of the three villagers accompanying him on Saturday and they started searching for him but in vain.

“Some local shepherds found the dead body of the missing Amlesh lying in the semi nude condition in a bush on Monday morning and informed the police” the officer in-charge of the Jama police station Jitendra Kumar said adding that there were marks of wounds on Rai’s body suggesting him to have been murdered.

Meanwhile, an FIR in this connection has been lodged by Rai’s in-laws against unknown persons with the dead body being sent to the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital for postmortem the report of which is awaited.
