New Delhi, April 3: Bhutan King Jigme Wangchuk on Monday arrived in India for a three-day visit at the invitation of President Droupadi Murmu.
External Affairs Minister received him at the Delhi airport and said that the visit will further strengthen the ‘close and unique ties’ between the two countries.
“Honoured to welcome His Majesty the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, on his arrival in India. His visit will further strengthen the close and unique India-Bhutan partnership,” Jaishankar wrote on twitter.

The foreign minister of Bhutan, Dr. Tandi Dorji, as well as other top officials, are with the king of Bhutan.
He will meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit. The visit continues the long-standing custom of frequent high-level interactions between the two countries. Senior officials including the minister for external affairs, S. Jaishankar, will also meet with the king of Bhutan.
This visit will give both India and Bhutan opportunity to assess the whole range of their bilateral relations as the two countries have special friendship and cooperation which is defined by mutual trust and understanding.
