New Delhi, March 16: An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 hit the Kermadec Islands region in New Zealand at 06:25 IST on Thursday.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), “Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.8, occurred on 16-03-2023, 06:25:58 IST, Lat: -30.34 & Long: -175.17, Depth: 41 Km, Location: Kermadec Islands.

As per information, the quake struck at a depth of 41 kilometres at a latitude of -30.34 and a longitude of -175.17. However, no casualty or damage to property has been reported so far.
Earlier on Wednesday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.7 on the Richter scale hit 263 km south-south-east of Hotan, China. The earthquake’s epicentre was 35.053°N and 81.395°E, respectively.
On March 14, an earthquake of magnitude 6.1 on the Richter Scale hit 443 km north of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea at 06:19 am IST.
