Jamshedpur, June 12: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC), Vijaya Jadhav on Monday held ‘Janata Darbar’ at Govindpur, leading a large number of local residents to turn up with their grievances for redressal.
Though people’s grievances concerning poor road and drainage conditions, drinking water problems and law and order problems figured in the Janata Darbar, matters related to encroachment of rayati land remained a dominant factor.
Residents hailing from areas like Govindpur, Parsudih, Sundernagar and Bagbera reached the Janata Darbar venue breasting the scorching sun and lodged their grievances related to primarily the land-grabbing issues.
One of the complainants Tarun Sudera apprised the DC as to how did an influential personal grab his several acres of land at Bagbera on the pretext of setting up a technical training institute.
“My father had given the land on rent for setting up a technical training institute over a decade ago. But the man in question is neither making a payment towards the rent nor vacating the land. Some other residents have sold out my rayati land fraudulently, ” Tarun Sudera, a resident of Khasmahal in Parsudih said.
The DC, Vijaya Jadhav listened attentively to each and every complainant and instructed her subordinates to ensure the complainants be resolved logically.
Among others who were in the ‘Janata Darbar’ include Jila Parishad Chairperson, Bari Murmu and Circle Officer, Jamshedpur Block, Amit Srivastava.
