New Delhi, March 29: The Election Commission of India is scheduled to make the announcement for the Karnataka Assembly elections today at 11.30 am in Vigyan Bhavan’s plenary hall in New Delhi.
For this reason, the polling panel has scheduled a news conference at 11.30 am in New Delhi. On March 25, Congress released the names of 124 candidates for the 2018 elections. Siddaramaiah, the former chief minister of Karnataka, will run from the Varuna district, while DK Shivakumar, the president of the Karnataka Congress, will run from the Kanakapura district.
On March 20, the Aam Aadmi Party unveiled its initial list of 80 candidates who would run in the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. The party has declared that it will run candidates in each of the 224 Assembly districts in the state, where elections for the Assembly are scheduled for May.
In the six areas of Bengaluru, Central, Coastal, Hyderabad-Karnataka, Mumbai-Karnataka, and Southern Karnataka, there are 224 Assembly seats. The main areas of the state are Mumbai-Karnataka and Southern Karnataka, which have 50 and 51 Assembly seats, respectively.
