Ranchi, Aug.8: The Prevention of Money Laundering Act special court rejected the bail plea of former Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan, who has been lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail for the last three months in a land scam case.
The order paved the path for Ranjan to knock on the door of the Jharkhand High Court to apply for a regular bail.
Earlier, the same court had rejected the bail pleas of other accused in the same case, including Afsar Ali, Amit Agarwal and Pradeep Bagchi.
This case is related to the purchase and sale of land occupied by the army in Bariatu under Bargain circle of Ranchi.
