ED files chargesheet against Jharkhand IAS officer, 9 others in Ranchi land scam

Ranchi, June 12: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a Prosecution Complaint (PC)(equivalent to a chargesheet) against the accused in the land scam related to the purchase and sale of other plots of Ranchi, including army-occupied land, with the help of fake documents.

As many as 10 persons are named in the PC. In the PC, the probe agency has given complete information about many pieces of evidence and the facts which have come to light against the accused in the present investigation.

Among those mentioned in the PC, the ED has already arrested eight including two Kolkata-based businessmen Amit Agarwal and Dilip Ghosh besides former Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan, Revenue Sub-Inspector of Badgain circle, Bhanu Pratap Prasad, fake land owner Pradeep Bagchi, land traders Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan and Talha Khan.

With this development, the ED paved the path for the court to take cognizance in the matter.
