Ranchi, May 6: As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched a major raid against the secretary of the mining and the industry departments, Pooja Singhal, the Pulse Super Speciality Hospital has come under the scanner of the ED as a cover-up of the suspected money laundering by her. The ED doubts that one Medansh Hospital Private Limited was purposely formed and later on amalgamated into the Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare Private Limited to accommodate slush money. The ED carried out raids against her, husband, brother and other associates in the MNREGA scam and so far seized Rs 19.31 crores cash from the house of a chartered accountant said to be close to her.
The hospital is part of the Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare Private Limited where her husband Abhishek Jha is the managing director. The company was incorporated in November 2011. In this company, her brother Siddharth Singhal served as director besides Amita Jha (sister of Abhishek Jha) and Dipti Banerjee.
The official address of this company is 1st Floor, Orchid Complex, Opposite RIMS, Bariatu in Ranchi. At the same address, another company Medansh Hospital Private Limited was incorporated in August 2016. Abhishek and Dipti joined as directors. The company was amalgamated in 2020. Sources said that the agency credibly doubts that Medansh Hospital Private Limited was formed with an objective to accommodate slush funds and the same was done through amalgamation in Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare.
The ED is learnt to have seized some crucial documents related to the Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare and Medansh Hospital Private that may help the agency to decode if there is an intricate layering of unaccounted money. The ED raided the office of some of the entry operators in Kolkata to secure documents and evidence of cash of the Medansh Hospital Private Limited was infused in Pulse Sanjeevani Healthcare Private Limited.
Nevertheless, Pulse Super Speciality Hospital remained controversial right from the beginning. Tribals and social activists alleged that the tribal land of ‘Bhuinhari’ nature. The Chief Minister had directed the then Ranchi DC Rai Mahimapat Ray to investigate the matter and take a suitable action. But nothing happened.
