ED reproduces army land scam accused after end of three-day remand period

Ranchi, June 12: The Enforcement directorate team today reproduced Kolkata businessmen Amit Agrawal and Dilip Ghosh before the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) special court after keeping them in its custody for three days on the court’s direction for interrogation.

As the businessmen were produced, the court forwarded them to Birsa Munda Central Jail.

Both businessmen are accused of selling army land by manipulating documents. The probe agency had arrested them from Kolkata on June 7 and produced before the PMLA court for the first time on June 8 requesting a five-day demand. On June 9, the court allowed a three-day remand.

In this case involving the two businessmen, the ED so far arrested eight people including former Ranchi deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan, circle revenue sub-inspector Bhanu Pratap Prasad, fake raiyat of army-occupied land Pradeep Bagchi besides others.
