Ranchi, July 31: Nucleus Mall owner Vishnu Agrawal, who did not turn up for questioning before the central probe agency Directorate of Enforcement (ED) citing religious engagement as a reason on July 26, today turned up responding to a fresh summons.
It was the second half of the day when Agarwal turned up as several media persons were waiting outside the ED’s regional office at Hinoo to know the latest development in the army land scam case in which Agarwal is allegedly involved.
Agarwal is accused of buying one acre of land on Cheshire Home Road on the basis of fake documents. The ED has arrested many, including an IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan in this connection. The arrested persons included those who helped in generation of fake documents and then paving the path for sale and purchase of land.
Earlier on June 20 this year, Agarwal had turned up before the ED for questioning. Earlier on May 8 Agarwal had gone to the same office but took leave citing medical reasons.
The probe agency wants to know his relationship with former Ranchi deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan and Prem Prakash, and the way the land was fraudulently dealt.
The ED’s action against Agarwal has been going on for a long time. On November 4, 2022, the probe agency had also raided his locations.
