New Delhi, Sept 19: Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, criticised the BJP on Monday for summoning AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak in the liquor policy issue.

Sisodia asserted that Durgesh Pathak had no involvement in the creation of Delhi’s excise policy despite being the party in control of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. In addition, he charged that the BJP was targeting Pathak out of a personal grudge.

“Today ED has summoned the election in-charge of AAP’s MCD Durgesh Pathak. What has our MCD election in-charge got to do with the Delhi government’s liquor policy? Is their target liquor policy or MCD elections?” Sisodia tweeted in Hindi.

— Manish Sisodia (@msisodia) September 19, 2022

Durgesh Pathak, a veteran of the AAP, sits in the Delhi Assembly as the representative for Rajinder Nagar. In the byelections held last year, he defeated BJP candidate Rajesh Bhatia by a margin of more than 11,000 votes.

Pathak confirmed that he will appear before the ED today in a statement to India Today. He should arrive at the federal agency’s office soon.
