Daltonganj, Oct 24: A young girl in Daltonganj was murdered brutally and barbarically for refusing to be a sex worker. Her killers were no outsiders but her own two sisters and one of their husbands. With one pimp like character they hit the young girl on head, made her breasts to bleed and then buried her most surreptitiously in the outskirt of the town area.

Sub divisional police officer K Vijay Shankar and officer in charge of the town police station A K Mahatha today unfolded the case in the press briefing, which was all blind and without any witness at all.

The dead girl remained unidentified for 5 days due to which dogs had damaged the body. K Vijay Shankar said the body was discovered by us on the fifth day of the murder which was done on March 21.

“We got her identified as Santoshi 18. The Medinirai medical college hospital refused to do her post-mortem saying the body was too ruined. At RIMS Ranchi the post mortem was done and from here the case began to unfold faster”, said K Vijay Shankar.

The post mortem report spoke of severe head injury. while her sisters who were trying to push her into flesh trade had maintained that she had committed suicide. The town police arrested two sisters, one of their husbands and one more person in this case. The accused Rakhi, Rupa, Dhananjay and Pratap have been remanded in judicial custody today.

Sources said had the town police had not acted professionally and consistently. This murder case which was tried to be passed as of suicide would have never opened.

The fifth accused in this case, Nitesh Kumar, is still absconding. Police is making all efforts to find him for further investigation.
